We should pray and hope for God so that we will be forgiven during the month of Ramadan. Why is that? Because there are so many reasons for forgiveness in Ramadan. Starting from prayer, fasting, almsgiving, worship lailatul qadar even zakat fitrah also as a form of "cleanser" for those who fast.
Consider the following arguments that show the many reasons for forgiveness in Ramadan:

1. Ramadan fasting removes sin
Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam said,

"Whoever fasts for faith and wants to get a reward is forgiven of all his past sins." [HR. Bukhari and Muslim]

2. The evening prayer in the month of Ramadan abolishes sin
Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam said,

"Whoever performs the evening prayer during the month of Ramadan because of faith and wants to get a reward, then he is forgiven of all his past sins." [HR. Muslim]

3. Alms abolish sin
Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam said,

"Will I show you the doors of good? Fasting is a shield. Sadaqah removes mistakes as water extinguishes fire. And pray someone in the dark of the night ... [HR. Tirmidhi]

4. Prayers on the night of lailatul qadar abolish sin

"Whoever stands (performs the prayer) on the night of Lailatul Qadar with (full of) faith and hope (reward), then his past sins will be forgiven." [HR. Bukhari & Muslim]

5. Zakat fitrah to purify people who fast
Ibn Abbas said,

"The Prophet sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa sallam required zakat al-Fitr, as a purifier of those who fast from acts which abort fasting and from acts or filthy speech, as well as food for the poor. "[HR. Abu Daud]

So much forgiveness in the month of Ramadan, so that if there is something that is not forgiven in the month of Ramadan it is really "outrageous" bad. In a hadith it is stated that a person who is not forgiven in the month of Ramadan will get great harm and loss.

The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said,

"Woe to a servant who finds the month of Ramadan and then Ramadan passes in the event that his sins have not been forgiven." [HR. Ahmad, saheeh]

Ibn Rajab quoted the words of salaf,

"Whoever is not forgiven of his sins in Ramadan, his sins will not be forgiven in other months." [Latha-if Al-Ma’arif, p. 297]

May we all be forgiven during the month of Ramadan. So hopefully useful.
